CODE OF CONDUCT

PURPOSE & SCOPE

We offer a wide variety of games and play opportunities, ranging from complex strategies to friendly casual competition to be enjoyed for social interactions, team building, and more. We also offer specialty services such as 3D printing, resin printing, and custom painting. Our ultimate goal is to ensure that every participant, guest, and customer has fun in a safe and family-friendly environment. It is this environment that Ready. Set. Game! (RSG) wishes to emphasize for our store and gaming lounges and for all of our events. This Code of Conduct helps to ensure that all participants including players, spectators, and staff can have an enjoyable experience day to day.  It also helps to ensure that your local gaming shop, Ready. Set. Game! remains in business for years to come.

RULES

All staff, players, spectators, customers, and visitors are expected to conduct themselves in a way that ensures all others present can enjoy themselves as much as possible. Any conduct that makes it difficult for others to participate, observe, shop, or visit Ready. Set. Game!, one of our events or on one of our platforms (Facebook, Discord, IG, etc.)  is not allowed.

If you are the subject of, or witness to any violations of this Code of Conduct, please notify the staff immediately so that we can take action that may include the following: a public or private reprimand, a request for apology (public or private), reporting to law enforcement or other appropriate authority.  Whether you're a regular member or a newcomer, we are committed to building a positive gaming community and we've got your back.

RSG  reserves the right to ask anyone to leave at any time. We also reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to temporarily or permanently ban you from our business should you violate any portion of our house rules.

EXPECTED behavior

Children 12 or under must be accompanied by an adult or guardian while in the store at all times. This includes tournaments and long-running events.

Keep the lounge and restroom clean.  Be courteous to other players and don't bring in obnoxious smelling food, leave trash or a mess in your area, or blow up the bathroom and leave your toilet tribute for someone else to clean up.

Games cease to be fun when a player or players break the rules to achieve victory. A player should prefer to lose a game than to win by cheating.

Taking advantage of inexperienced players or others will not be tolerated. Similarly, colluding with other players to fix a game will not be permitted.

All decisions made by an appointed judge for an event are final, and employees have no influence on the decisions of the judge.

Players of any game should strive to act in good faith of the game while playing.

Customers are expected to inform the staff immediately if they observe an illegal activity in our store or during our events.

Players, spectators, customers, staff, and property should be treated with the same respect that players would expect for themselves and their property.

Winning or losing with grace is vital to the enjoyment of any game. The desire to continue playing a game can be soured by a player that berates or disrespects their opponent after winning or losing a match. Demeaning or disrespectful comments or actions before, during, or after a game indicate poor sportsmanship and will not be tolerated.

Communicate well and often.  Remember that communication is a process of trial and error, everyone makes mistakes or may speak out of turn.  Understanding should come first before reaction.

BANNED and zero tolerance behavior

Foul or Abusive Language – Use of any discriminatory, derogatory, abusive, or foul language may result in expulsion from any event without prizes at the sole discretion of staff.

Gatekeeping & Bullying – Bullying behaviors including gatekeeping may result in expulsion from the store.  No one gets to decide who does or does not have access or rights to a community or identity.  Focus on the games, prioritize fun and leave the rest of the world outside while you are here.

Theft – Stealing from the store, customers, participants, or staff will result in a ban from the store, as well as a report filed with local law enforcement,

Improper Attire/Accessories – Customers or participants who wear obscene, demeaning, disruptive, or overly revealing attire as determined by the sole discretion of staff may be asked to leave the store until they are able to change.  This also applies to accessories that may depict inappropriate, obscene, or offensive images or language.

Personal Hygiene – If it becomes apparent from appearance or odor that a patron is causing a hygienic disturbance, they may be asked to leave at sole discretion of staff.

Alcoholic Drinks – Unless explicitly allowed for a special event or given direct permission from the staff, alcoholic beverages are not allowed in the store or gaming lounge.

Drugs – Anyone selling, using, carrying, or under the influence of illegal substances at RSG, including the parking lot, may receive a lifetime ban on the first offense without any prior warning.

Weapons – RSG prohibits the carrying of concealed weapons by all persons other than those with a valid CCW permit and law enforcement officers. Patrons found breaking this policy may be asked to leave.

Competing Business/Services – Although we encourage trading amongst our players and customers, all buying and selling for any form of currency must be conducted through RSG. This also applies to competing services.  Ready. Set. Game! provides certain specialty services such as custom 3D printing, resin printing, and custom painting.  Please do not advertise your personal services and/or referrals to other retailers/websites (i.e. Amazon) on any of our platforms (in store, RSG social media, or the RSG Discord Channel) without discussing this with management first.  These types of posts will be removed immediately and repeat offenders will be removed.

Violence – Violence or threats of violence will not be tolerated.
